Synopsis
In the 1940s, during the dead of night, a 9-year-old Aboriginal orphan boy arrives at a remote monastery run by a renegade nun, played by Cate Blanchett.
What we did
Stage23 co-founder Jonathan Hairman served as the on-set VFX Supervisor for Warwick Thornton's spiritual drama feature film, The New Boy. The team produced the central VFX sequences for the film including a simulated mystical ‘orb’, playful dust motes, a CG bubble on Cate Blanchett's head and a 3D boomerang in flight.
