Synopsis
The second instalment of creator Ti West’s X horror trilogy is set in 1918. A young woman on the brink of madness pursues stardom in a desperate attempt to escape the drudgery, isolation and lovelessness of life on her parents' remote Texan farm.
What we did
Stage23 continued its work with Ti West on the next instalment to the original horror feature film series which began with X (2022). Shot in New Zealand and set in 2018 USA, the horror feature is a prequel to the first film. Delivering 105 shots, Stage23’s key work includes the highly stylised dance sequence, featuring a digital matte painted World War II environment with explosions and fireworks. Developing the signature style for this trilogy with the delivery of complex elements of blood, gore addition and enhancement to action sequences. The team also delivered fire enhancements, cinema screen replacements and was dedicated to realising Ti West's painterly aesthetic with multiple sky replacements.
