Whale Shark Jack debuts in LA with Stage23 and Cottesloe Films

Stage23 co-founder Christian Debney was thrilled to celebrate our environmentally stunning and complex undersea creature VFX work on feature film Whale Shark Jack at its US premiere at the Newport Film Festival this month.

Debney joined the Cottesloe Films creative team at the debut international screening and Q&A with Whale Shark Jack co-directors Khrob Edmonds and Miranda Edmonds, screenwriter and author Kathryn Lefroy, co-producer Estelle Buzzard and from Screenwest, head of industry development Ingrid Longley.

The live-action family feature, originally commissioned by STAN, is now screening in the US on BYUtv and has been acquired by Canal+ in France, RTE in Ireland, RTV Slovenia, and the Netherlands Public Broadcasting. The film has also been adapted into a children’s book by Penguin Random House and penned by Kathryn Lefroy.
